December Wraps up for Knights

The Black Knights placed 8th out of 24 teams in the Governor Mifflin Holiday Tournament this weekend. Senior Joey Goodhart remained undefeated on the year by winning the title at 220 pounds, with a 5-1 decision in the Finals, to pick up his second title at this tournament. Aidyn Miller also earned a trip to his first Final of his young career at 113, where he lost in overtime, 3-1, to two-time Champion and three-time Finalist, Austin Petril of Upper Darby. At 120 pounds, David Good continued his torrid start to the season by finishing runner-up to Chris Crane of Southern, dropping a 5-3 decision. Tommy Bennett  completed a successful weekend as he placed 3rd at 195 pounds, winning a 3-1 decision. Rounding out the placewinners for Hempfield was Tyler Reber at 152, where he finished 8th.

As a team, the Black Knights are 5-2 so far on the season, and 1-0 in Section 1 competition. On deck this week is another Section 1 opponent ,  McCaskey on Thursday night, January 2nd, at home beginning at 7 pm.
