On Saturday, February 13th, the Black Knights Varsity squad journeyed to Manheim Township for the 2021 Lancaster-Lebanon Championships. 11 Black Knights were seeded in the tourney, with a total of 7 Hempfield wrestlers placing – with 2 champions, one runner-up, 3 third-place finishers, and 1 fourth placer! The team came up a bit short and ended up falling to Manheim Township to claim a second-place team finish with 115 points – 10.5 points behind the home team winners.
Prior to the match, the team and coaches accepted their award for being 2020-21 LL League Section I Champions!
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jonah Gelbart, who suffered a dislocated elbow during his first quarterfinals match and was forced to forfeit the rest of the tournament. Get well soon, Jonah!
