Black Knights Send Wrestlers to Keystone State Championships

JUNIOR HIGH QUALIFIERS:

On March 18th-19th at Spooky Nook Sports Complex, 7 wrestlers from the Junior High Black Knight squad competed in the Keystone Southeast Regional Qualifier. The top 8 wrestlers in each weight class are advancing to the 2021 Keystone State Championships which is being held at the Monroeville Convention Center on April 1st-3rd. Representing the Black Knights at the 2021 Championship are Zy Murray, Dom Angelo, Deshawn Jones, and Andrew Edye.

This tournament, which is sponsored by PA Power Wrestling, was created as an alternative to the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling (PJW) Tournament which was cancelled this year due to COVID concerns.

JUNIOR HIGH QUALIFIER RESULTS:

124 LBS – ZY MURRAY – 8th Grade – 5th Place

132 LBS – DOM ANGELO – 8th Grade – 7th Place

132 LBS – JORDY EDYE – 9th Grade – DNP

140 LBS – DILLON GOERNER – 9th Grade – DNP

147 LBS – DESHAWN JONES – 7th Grade – 8th Place

252 LBS – ANDREW EDYE – 9th Grade – 1st Place

 

HEMPFIELD GIRLS QUALIFIERS:

The Hempfield Girls Team has also placed 5 wrestlers who will be competing Saturday, April 3rd:
