Plaza 5th at PJW Youth States; Eklund 4th

JJ Plaza placed 5th at 160 pounds and Jasmine Eklund placed 4th at 80 pounds in the PJW Youth State Championship held at the Petersen’s Event Center on Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Charlie Williams also qualified and competed at PJWs in the 65 pound division.

The State Championship brackets are filled with 28 wrestlers at each weight class.  Each wrestler qualified in one of fourteen regions across the state. Full brackets can be found here.

Jasmine becomes the first Hempfield wrestler to place in the girl’s division.  JJ and Jasmine become just the 7th and 8th Hempfield wrestlers to place at this prestigious event joining the following place winners:
